Nonna Books
A self-initiated research, design and publishing project dedicated to documenting, commemorating and preserving family histories and biographies. Developed in collaboration with writer and editor Yael Cooper-Dovev, the project brings together historical research, storytelling and contemporary book design.
The visual identity draws inspiration from the decorative floor tiles commonly found in early 20th-century Tel Aviv homes. An antique Hebrew typeface complements the geometric motif, creating a visual language that balances contemporary design with a romantic, nostalgic sensibility.
Each book is individually designed to bring together family genealogies, migration maps, reconstructed photographs, archival letters, traditional patterns and personal memorabilia. Where budgets allow, books are hand-bound with fabric covers and embossed titles, giving each publication a distinctive tactile quality.
The result is a carefully crafted, beautifully bound family book — a personal archive designed to preserve memories and stories for generations to come.
